Selected text is not deleted in Word document due to WP enabled.
Cause:
Options that make Word act like WordPerfect are enabled. Word is displaying a deletion confirmation statement on the status bar.
Solution:
Either confirm each deletion (enter 'Y' for yes), or disable WordPerfect options.
To disable WordPerfect options:
1) Select the 'Tools' menu and select 'Options...'. (The Options dialog box appears.)
2) Click the 'General' tab.
3) Clear the 'Help for WordPerfect Users' check box.
4) Clear the 'Navigation Keys for WordPerfect Users' check box.
